NEUROMUSCULAR DENTISTRY
Improve your quality of life!
Discover a modern, all-encompassing approach to complete dental rehabilitation: neuromuscular dentistry.
Do you experience muscle tension problems related to your mouth, i.e. headaches, joint clicking or popping, posture problems or neck tension? Neuromuscular dentistry may be the solution that will bring you effective, long-term relief.
The K7 device and the J5 TENS
Using ultra-sensitive detectors, the K7 device measure the function of your jaw and all muscles related to mastication (chewing). This device helps us diagnose and treat bite-related problems. In addition, it provides the dentist with super accurate data that is impossible to obtain by traditional (i.e.: standard x-ray) means. After analysis, the dentist can view the topography of your jaw muscle function and temporo-mandibular joint alignment.
The computer program used with the K7 device can place a photo of the ideal path of the closure of the patient's mouth next to one of the actual path. Furthermore, the measurements associated with this procedure are extremely accurate, enabling the dentist to develop a treatment plan with pinpoint accuracy, and inform the treatment team of each step that must be followed.
In fact, this device, also called an electromyograph, is used in combination with the J5 TENS (transcutaneous electrical neural stimulation), which conditions the muscles (painlessly) to achieve their optimum state of physiological relaxation. In comparison, the K7 measures the gap between the patient's acquired bite (related to the pain and joint problems experienced) and the ideal bite.
In this way, the dentist can develop a suitable treatment plan for each patient, involving orthodontics, implant installation (or other surgery), crowns, facets, or complete or partial smile rehabilitation.
